Design Courses
The Oxford College of Garden Design’s postgraduate level program is widely regarded as one of the top contemporary garden design courses in the world. The college is run by award winning international designer, Duncan Heather and is one of the only schools in the UK to have had its course credit rated to postgrad. level by a British University.
This innovative landscape design course is designed to equip students with the skills necessary to set up and run their own design practices and is backed up by a team of dedicated ‘Mentors’ to help & support its newly qualified graduates. For those who wish to find paid employment, our students are considered to be the most employable of any graduate course and have been placed with award winning designers such as Anthony Paul, Luciano Giubbilei, Joe Swift, Charlotte Rowe, Arne Maynard, and Christopher Bradley-Hole to name but a few. Throughout the course, students work with real clients, on projects from the tutors own commissions.
They have access to working sites and often assist tutors on private commissions. No other course gives you a better head start

Our Master Class sessions are ideal for anyone who wishes to expand their planting or business skills.
The Short Courses of which the 4 day Taster class is the most popular’ allows people to either test the water before committing themselves to a more intensive period of study, or to expand their existed design training.
When we first had the idea of introducing a new ex-student showcase to our website, we had no idea we would be quite so spoiled for choice with a long list of Oxford College of Garden Design postgraduates who have, often very quickly, gone on to stamp their individual marks on the world of international garden design.
What we realised, as we started to invite our former students to feature in our showcase which goes live later this year, is that we really can boast an amazing and long - 17 years since we first started our postgraduate diploma course in residential landscape architecture - track record of training some of the best-known landscape designers anywhere in the world.
Student who attend the OCGD do so because they want to become some of Europe’s top designers .
In order to help you achieve your goals, the college offers all graduates a FREE mentoring scheme to assist you with your own private design commissions, when ever and for as long as you require assistance. We act as your safety net, when starting your business.
For those who wish to find paid employment, our students are considered to be the most employable of any graduate course and have been placed with this countries top award winning designers such as Anthony Paul, Luciano Giubbilei, Joe Swift, Charlotte Rowe, Arne Maynard, and Christopher Bradley-Hole to name but a few.

He originally trained under, then worked for, top international designer and author John Brookes and was subsequently offered a directorship in 1991, which he declined to concentrate on his own design practice in Henley-on-Thames.
