GD020 The Site and its Setting
This lecture will discuss the main problems associated to the layout of residential sites It will identify the main problems associated with a typical garden and discuss the three primary planes of enclose; the base plane vertical and overhead planes. It will discuss the elements and make-up of each and there role in the creation of three dimensional space

GD060 The Design Process
The lecture will discuss the process by which the designer arrives at a workable proposal. It will analyse in detail the research and preparation required to accumulate the information required and the design process which takes the student through from the concept sketches to the finished proposal

GD040 Allocation of space
The lecture will analyse the main elements of the residential site dividing them into 2 main areas. The front will be broken down into 5 Zones. The curb or footpath The Drive From the drive to the entry space The Entrance / Greeting area The remaining space

GD070 Design principles

The lecture will be divided into 3 main areas Order & Route of Flow, Unity, & Rhythm. Each area will be discuses in detail and further broken down into the following groups
Order & Route of Flow: Symmetry, Asymmetry, and Continuity.
Unity: Natural and introduced unity, interconnection (Interlocking), Number unity
Rhythm: repartition, Alternation, Inversion, Graduation
